Clinical Massage
Active Release Techniques (ART) is an advanced, clinical, movement-based bodywork system designed to treat muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, joints and nerves.

It is an extremely effective collection of over 300 protocols that isolate specific body structures to reduce a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological symptoms and pathologies.
The basic premise is simple. "Shorten the tissue, apply a contact tension and lengthen the tissue or make it slide relative to the adjacent tissue". By doing this, ART can produce amazing results. Whether you have a repetitive use injury such as carpel tunnel syndrome or tendinitis, a lingering ligament sprain or joint pain from an old injury, chronic back pain, neurological symptoms such as sciatica or tingling in your fingers or if you are training for an athletic event, I can help you through the use of ART.
I am full body certified in ART and offer 30, 45 and 60-minute sessions. Two aspects of my ART sessions distinguish me from other providers. First, the length of treatments are significantly longer than you can expect to receive from the vast majority of other providers. Due to time constraints and billing limitations, Chiropractor and Physical Therapists, for example, usually only provide 10-20 minutes of ART during a particular session. Second, my expertise in other massage therapy techniques complements and enhances ART in unique ways to produce great results.
ART involves both active and passive movement by recipients and although less relaxing than traditional massage the benefits can be wide-ranging, long-lasting and immediate. For more information you can visit the Active Release Techniques web site.
